La., a machine gunner with weapons platoon, Lima Company, Battalion Landing Team 3/1, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), fires a medium machine gun during live-fire training. The 11th MEU is currently deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group as the U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
